PROJECTS  BAR NONE

It's more than just an awards program!  While we recognize the hard work and dedication you have put into making your establishment what it is, we also want to help make your job easier and add highlights to the industry with your participation.  We are here to serve

terrible idea -what time.webp

The Best Bar Awards is your entry into America's Best Bars future podcast & proposed TV show!

In addition to this we are creating a national online directory for travelers and visitors of interest

to find America's Best Bars.  As we do this we are conducting market research and working with area universities not just to promote night life but to discover the lifestyle aspects that make this industry tick!   As sociologists look closely at how American's behave it would be seen as natural that looking into nightlife can be quite revealing.  While music may not be a center of the evening bars do offer the space to meet up with friends, dance or watch sports and most importantly drink.  Smaller more distinct crowds draw from what could be an older crowd, gaining in drinking maturity and looking for a night with extra depth.  A second project would be the gathering of stories especially from the old-pros (like yourself?) who have seen it all - or just about everything!

2025 Tie into the Best Bar Awards

BAR CULTURES (research)

A new initiative led by noted social scientist Dr. Mike Ratner will engage with teams of researchers across the country to examine aspects of nightlife that can help determine new ways the industry can improve on its reputation and marketplace understanding.

If we may pause and pretend that we have a bird’s eye view of any neighborhood's nightclub scene what would we see?  From our perspective of who sits on the bar stool to who is on the dance floor there are two modes of examination. First the broader, large inclusive image of the people partying as a whole, and then the up close and intimate image of individuals who are there participating for whatever attracts them.  Then there is the bar owner's opinion!

AMERICA'S BEST BARS (book)

A great bar can be a great many things: A place you go to wind down, or to blow off steam. A place to try a new cocktail, or order an old favorite. A place to go out on the town, or to pop around the corner. Bars can be all these things to people – and nowhere is it easier to see that than in our inaugural list of America's Best Bars coming in 2025. Selected by our network of influencers across the country – from every type of drinking hole imaginable– these bars represent the best neighborhood taverns, the finest dives, cocktail meccas, the coziest wine bars and the beachiest best beach bars.
